Requirements to be able to apply for the training

In order to be able to apply for the training in Spain, you need to meet the following requirements:

  • Have been in Spain for at least two years immediately prior to application.
  • Have obtained a degree or certificate from a training or academic programme in Spain lasting at least one year.
  • Have sufficient financial means to cover the costs of their stay in Spain.
  • No criminal record in Spain or in other countries where you have previously resided.
  • Not be banned from entering Spain.
  • Not be a citizen of a Member State of the European Union, the European Economic Area or Switzerland, or a family member of citizens of these countries who are in Spain.

In order to carry out your application, we recommend that you consult with a migration expert so that you can make sure that you meet all the necessary requirements for the application.

Documents required to make the application for the training roots application

The documents required for to make an application for a training placement may vary depending on the Autonomous Community where you carry out the procedure. 

In general, it is necessary to have:

  • Valid and valid passport.
  • Criminal record certificate from your country of origin and from the countries in which you have resided in the last 5 years.
  • Medical certificate attesting that he/she does not suffer from any disease that could have an impact on public health.
  • Documentation proving the relationship with the employer or training centre.
  • Documentation accrediting the training to be received and the duration of the training.
  • Documentation accrediting the availability of sufficient economic resources to cover the costs of the stay in Spain and return to the country of origin.
  • Certificate of census registration or residence in Spain.

Proof of registration

The proof of registration refers to the documentation proving that the applicant is enrolled in a training institution. 

This documentation is required for applying for "arraigo" for training in Spain

In general, a certificate of enrolment issued by the educational institution where the training is being undertaken is required. 

The certificate must include detailed information on the course or training programme, duration, modality and number of training hours

It is important that the certificate is up to date and valid for the period in which the application for the training is being made.

Rootedness for training: Is it possible to extend this authorisation?

The rootedness for training is an authorisation that can be extended only once, for an additional period of 12 months.

Applies only in cases where the training lasts longer than 12 months or where the course exceeds the duration of the first authorisation granted.
